Edna Earl "Scoop" Fryar, 69, of Dudley went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, October 9, 2022 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Viewing with the family present will be held Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Golden Gate Cemetery in Pikeville.
Scoop was born in Wayne County on December 12, 1952 to the late William Lamont King and Ida Mae Price King. She worshipped at St. James Church Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Mt. Olive.
She is survived by her husband, William “Dillon” Fryar of Goldsboro; one son, Greg Carr of Goldsboro; one daughter, Kimiyra Hobbs of Goldsboro; two sisters, Geraldine Best of Greensboro and Pauline Ross of Goldsboro; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; her nieces, nephews; special friend, Brenda Slocum, and other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Willie Mae Roberts; her brother, Willie James King and her great-niece, Blessence J. Hill.
Professional services have been entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
