Edith Smith Peacock

Edith Smith Peacock, age 94, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will follow at noon at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Peacock was born in Greene County on May 12, 1929 to the late Theodore Jasper and Carrie Reeves Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Catherine Marks and husband, Lawrence of Smithfield; two sons, Danny Peacock and wife, Felisa of Knightdale and Dudley Peacock of Knightdale; two sisters, Faye Moore of Black Creek and Sadie Mae Hill of Belhaven; four grandchildren, Sharon (Jeff), Tanisha, Glenda (Les) and Larry Jr.; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Leland Peacock and her siblings.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
