Edith (Sauls) Head

Edith Sauls Head, 85, of Fremont went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1500 Wayne Memorial Drive in Goldsboro.  Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Mrs. Head was born in Wayne County on October 05, 1934 to the late Charles Vernon and Julia Perry Sauls.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Hendricks and husband, Mike of Broadway; one sister, Dora Lou Radford and husband, Robert of Wilson; two brothers, Wayne Sauls and wife, Faye of Fremont and Charles Sauls of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Hannah and Rebecca Hendricks and Brandon Head and wife, Ashely; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Head and Zachary Dale Head; sisters-in-law, Gray Sauls of Fremont and Susie Sauls of Belfast; special neighbors and friends, Edna Braswell and her son, Jimmy Braswell and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her husband, Alton “Zack” Head; one son, Alton “Al” Dale Head and three brothers, William Vernon Sauls, Julian Sauls and Donald Sauls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Aycock Primitive Baptist Church in Fremont where she was a dedicated, faithful and lifelong member.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
