Dr. Louis A. Gagliano, 81, died at home on September 27, 2023.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Michelle; a sister, Yolanda Carozza and three children, Nathalie Bentley (husband Steve), Christopher Gagliano and Frederick Gagliano (wife Kasey). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ashley Gagliano, Amber Gagliano, Charleigh Gagliano, Keaton Gagliano, Julia Bentley, Jeremy Bentley, Jamie Bentley, Steve Bentley, and Nicholas Bentley.
Dr. Gagliano was born in New York, NY and raised in the Bronx. He completed his undergraduate studies from City College of New York, served in the Navy, and traveled to Belgium to obtain his medical degree in Louvain. While in Belgium, he met and married his wife, Michelle and had their first child, Nathalie. After graduating medical school, he and Michelle moved to Montreal, Canada for his internship, then did his residency at Cherry Hospital and a Geriatric Fellowship at Duke. He opened his private practice, Wayne Psychiatric Associates, where he counselled the patients of Wayne County for over thirty years. After closing his practice, he continued to do what he loved by taking care of patients at Goldsboro Comprehensive Center to aid in overcoming addiction.
Besides being known as a compassionate physician, he also had many hobbies during his life, but he will always be remembered for his love of learning and most of all, his love and dedication to his family.
A private service will be held for the family.
