Dr. Bobby J. Parker (Major, US Army, Retired) of Leesburg, Florida departed this walk of life peacefully Friday, February 7, 2025 at Tavares Cornerstone Hospice Care in Tavares, Florida with his family by his side.
Dr. Parker was born in North Carolina on September 20, 1947 to the late George and Vera Parker. He was a devoted veteran retiring from the United States Army after proudly serving our country for 39 years.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deborah Y. Parker; a son, Steven Parker Sr. and wife, Kimberly of Goldsboro, NC; a daughter, Zaborah Roane of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Steven Parker Jr. (Courtney), Rashad Parker (Albony), Tiarra Parker-Scarboro (Shyheim), Sierrah Robinson, and JaQuan Wiggins (Special), all of North Carolina; eleven great-grandchildren, Ahzy McCoy, Sire Wiggins, Jaiden Parker, Jeremiah Parker, Julia Parker, Jordan Parker, Josiah Parker, Ashton Anthony, River Parker, Rashad Parker Jr., and Evayah Scarboro, all of NC; one brother, Milton Parker of Los Angeles, CA; four sisters: Joyce Parker Hunter (Theodore) of Canton, OH, Brenda Parker Battle (Doug), Peggy Parker Harrison and Donna K. Parker Bynum (Jon), all of Rocky Mount, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Parker was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Dennis Parker.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
