Donald Wooten was a son, brother, friend, father, grandfather, husband, uncle, veteran, neighbor, intellect, technician, unpaid comedian, DJ, movie buff, critical critic when critiquing, an outspoken speaker and a true North Carolinian that loved North Carolina as much as he did overtaking someone slow rolling in front of him. He was as tough as railroad nails and as headstrong as any engine conductor could depend on. In these attributes, you could find the grounds to love him or hate him. Regardless of which side of the line your emotions landed, you had to respect him because he was always unequivocally and undeniably him. A whole human that lived a full life replete with struggles and triumphs, trenches and mountain peaks. A great man who will be missed surely and sorely but who’s legacy will be reflected through all that truly got to know him. Donald Wooten…Rest In Paradise.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Linda Faye Wooten of 50 years, his children, son, Derek Devon Wooten, Jennette Johnson, son, Donald G. Wooten II, Ludy Wooten (daughter in-law), son, Lawrence Wooten, Lisa Lott, niece, Summer Hagins; sister, Joy Faison; five grandchildren, grandson, Devean Wooten, grandson, Dyllan Wooten, granddaughter, Lyric Wooten, granddaughter, Layla Wooten and granddaughter, Lexington Wooten.
