Charles Roque Jackson, 95, of Goldsboro went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, March 11, 2023 at home.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Jackson was born in Cumberland County on July 17, 1927 to the late Clarence David and Rena Porter Jackson. He served in the Merchant Marines for 5 years and 2 years in the Army before retiring from Nabisco after 35 years of dedicated service. He along with his wife, attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church while his health permitted. Mr. Jackson was an avid fisherman and loved helping others whether it was mowing someone’s yard or just being a servant to others. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of almost 71 years, Alice Jackson; his children, Gary Jackson and wife, Crystal, Deborah Jackson and husband, Henry Newton, Dennis Jackson and wife, Julia and Reverend Kenneth Jackson and wife, Terrie; one brother, Bruce Jackson and wife Evelyn; daughter-in-law, Gail Jackson; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles R. Jackson Jr.; two brothers, Riley Jackson and Joe Jackson and one sister, Loretta Jackson.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
