Obituary
Brian Thomas Beard, 55, of Goldsboro passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends following the service.
Brian was born at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota on July 24, 1967 to the late Julian Wade and Sylvia Perdue Beard. He was a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ in Goldsboro and served as a Correctional Sergeant with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety with 19 years of service. Brian had a passion for cigars and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Belinda Goff Beard; his sister, Janet Beard (Robert Barker) of Colorado; two nieces, Heather Verhoeff and husband, Josh and Samantha Grossman and husband, Randy and his beloved pet, Rona.
In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Beard and his beloved pet, Max.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
