Billy Sharon Benning, age 80, passed away peacefully at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab Center on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Benning, and is survived by her children, Tracy Benning of Raleigh, NC, and Michael Benning (Lori) of Goldsboro, NC, as well as her grandchildren, Ann, Sharon and Sarah Benning. 

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Woods of Addyston, Ohio, and has three sisters, Joyce Miller (Howard), Jackie Nash (Danny), and the late Nelda Schobert (Dwayne). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Billy loved her flowers and working in her yard. She also loved baking (especially at Christmas), crossword books and sewing. 

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, especially the staff at Willow Creek for caring for her these last four years. 

A memorial service will be held at a future date in Ohio for family and friends.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
