Ashley Nicole (Hopkins) Cahoon Obituary

Ashley Nicole Hopkins Cahoon of Richlands, NC was called home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Ashley was born on Wednesday, July 12, 1989, in Greenville, TX to Kimberly Hopkins and Chris Borders. She was her momma’s “babydoll.”  And was loved by all from the very beginning.

She was welcomed with open arms by Ina Jane Trujillo (maternal grandmother), John Phillip Borders, Sr. (paternal grandfather), Pawpaw (grandfather-in-law), Janie Marie Vogel (aunt), Paul Borders (uncle), and Belinda Davis and Cayden (cousins).

Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service.

She is survived by her sons Kevin and Bryan, their father Daniel Cahoon (Ana), her mother Kimberly Williams and stepdad David, her father Chris Borders, and Mother-in-law Renee Cahoon. Grandparents: Terry Hopkins, Darlene Schroeder, and Mawmaw. Eleven Siblings: Steven, Jonathan (Gabby), Tracy, Justin, Christian, Theresa, Samarria (Dylan), Brooke (Trey), Saniya, Jeffery (Rachel), and Zachary. Sixteen nieces and nephews: Chloe, Leanna, Dakota, Miranda (toot), Connor, Ayden, Taven, Ryker, Jaxon, Holden, Grayson, Makenzie, Emersyn, Tatum, Elowen, Charlie. Aunts and uncles: Mindy and Dan, Chris and Mary, Lona, and Tiffany and Adrian. Many cousins, friends, and extended family.

Ashley was such a fun, loving, and beautiful soul who was dedicated to her boys. She always said that Kevin was the one that saved her and helped her blossom into the wonderful mother she became. When Bryan came along she definitely got her “momma’s boy.” She loved and supported them in every way she could. There are perfect to her just as they are in Gods eyes. Being an aunt was a title that she was not only honored with but blessed with. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She was also a big advocate for those struggling whether it be autism, mental health, and those who just needed a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.

In her younger years she found a passion in cheerleading, and softball. She served as a student ambassador at Johnston Community College before transferring to Miller Motte where she completed her degree in Medical Assisting. Throughout her professional career in the medical field, she ultimately found fulfillment working with the YMCA. If you feel it in your heart to pay your respects, we ask that a donation be made through the funeral home or to the account set up for Ashley’s boys.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
