Mrs. Annie J. Ruffin Artis, 71, of Goldsboro, N.C. departed her earthly life peacefully December 16, 2022, at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland.
Annie (Sister) was born in Wayne County, N.C. to the late Mrs. Helen Lassiter Ruffin and Mr. Allen Lee Ruffin Sr.
She received her education at Norwayne School.
Annie’s life works included with Goldsboro Iron and Metal Company for over 20 years and also with Pope Transportation Company in Mount Olive, N.C. as a cashier.
Annie leaves to cherish her loving precious memories two daughters; Melinda Ruffin, LaVern Ruffin, a bonus daughter, Mrs. Terrie Wooten-Parker and a son, Mr. Gary Ruffin and wife, Jacquline Ruffin, all of Goldsboro, N.C.; two brothers, Allen Ruffin Jr., and James Ruffin and wife, Patricia, both of Goldsboro, N.C.; sister-in-law, Minister Marva Ruffin of Goldsboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, Mrs. Victoria Ruffin Atkins and husband, Darryl, Paulishia Ruffin, Justin Hall and wife, Kanika, MarQuell Ruffin and Shanice Ruffin; six great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Ruffin, Madelynn Ruffin, Liayah Hall, Makiya Hall, Chrystian Atkins and Caydon Atkins and a host of other relatives, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her brother, Minister Larry Ruffin.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will be held at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. Viewing will be held prior to the service from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will receive friend’s other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jacquline Ruffin, 201 Country Day Road in Goldsboro and also her brother’s home, Allen Ruffin, 205 Brandywine Drive in Saulston and request those visiting to please wear a mask.
