Ann Joan (Minikus) Simmons

Ann Joan Simmons, 66, of Fremont passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Simmons was born in New Jersey on March 11, 1954 to the late Albert and Ann Joan Huck Minikus.  She was a member of One Accord Church in Princeton.  Mrs. Simmons was a registered nurse having worked previously at the various institutions including Wayne Memorial Hospital, Vidant Medical Center, Wilson Medical Center, Kitty Askins Hospice Center, the Neuse Correctional Center, WakeMed Rehabilitation and several Home Health Care agencies.

She is survived by her husband, Barrett Simmons; one son, John Roberson and wife, Kristina of Wake Forest; one daughter, Dana Roberson Donaldson and husband, Robert of Wake Forest; two sisters, Susan Morse of Fremont and Sharon Kibilowski and husband, Dan of Michigan; six grandchildren; a nephew, Brian Putnam and wife, Shana of Oklahoma; a niece, Brett Dean of Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
