Agnes Best (Westbrook) Rogers

Agnes Best Westbrook Rogers, 88, of Dudley went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Love Memorial Baptist Church in the Mar Mac community.  A homegoing celebration will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastor Richard Toler officiating.  Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.  All in attendance are asked to please wear a face covering and practice social distancing. 

Mrs. Rogers was born in Wayne County on April 8, 1932 to the late Harvey Westbrook and Clara Westbrook.  She was a faithful member of Love Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Rogers; four sons, Jimmie Best and wife, Barbara of Dudley, Johnnie Best and wife, Lee Ann of Goldsboro, Danny Best and wife, Vickie of Rosewood and Michael Best of Greenville, NC; one daughter, Patricia Gonsalves and husband, Leon of Hawaii; two step-sons, Timmy Rogers of Dudley and fiancée, Diana Pierce and Randy Rogers and wife, Norma of Goldsboro; two step-daughters, Sharon Pendergraft and husband, Oscar of Kenly and Kathy Carmac and husband, Richard of Dudley; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Westbrook of Goldsboro and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Best; one brother, Norman Westbrook and three sisters, Eunice Jernigan, Lois Williams and Geraldine Westbrook Davis.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
