Abbie Forehand

Joseph Albert “Abbie” Forehand, 82, of the Patetown community passed away Friday evening, August 19, 2022 at Wayne UNC Health Care.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Pate Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.

Abbie was born in Wayne County on February 10, 1940 to the late Starling and Sallie Gardner Pate Forehand. He was a volunteer for Patetown Fire Department for over twenty years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his brother, Mickey Forehand and wife Barbara of Goldsboro; one sister, Maxine Sasser of Patetown and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mavis Williford and Sarah Smith.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
