Goldsboro- Thomas Glenn Price went to be with his Lord and Savior around midnight on Monday evening, January 13, 2020.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Visitation with family will occur prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Interment will follow at Patetown Cemetery.
He was born in Wayne County on November 15, 1952 to Vernon H. Price of Eureka and the late Julia Joyce Martin Price.
Thomas was a loving father to his sons and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his friendliness and kindness to everyone. His love for people was always shown by his beautiful smile, laughter, caring and friendly ways to everyone. When his sons were young, he was a volunteer coach and supporter of local sports programs. His love of people showed in his volunteer work to serve others as he joined his partner, Debbie, in volunteering as a Make A Wish granter for children with life threatening illnesses in the area. In addition, he used his love of dance and music to serve others by dancing for local nursing home residents and assisted living residents on Sunday evenings for several years. He has volunteered in annual local charity events with the Top Hat Ballroom Dance Studio and the Goldsboro Sugarfoot Shag Club over the last ten years.
Thomas enjoyed his work throughout his life. He owned his own trucking business for many years and later had a career as a sales representative with Thompson Lubricants of Goldsboro for seventeen years until his recent retirement.
He is survived by his father, Vernon Price and by two sons, David Price and Matthew Price. In addition, he is survived by his loving partner of eleven years, Dr. Debbie Hall Grady; three brothers, Larry Price, Cleve Price, and Steve Price and wife, Tanya; one sister, Joy Dixon and husband, Billy; and two grandchildren, Shelly Price and T.J. Price.
In addition to his mother, Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Price and step-mother, Elsie Price.
Officiating the service is Pastor Jeff Dail of the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pianist will be lifelong friend, Garry Best.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
