Mt. Olive- Thomas Allen Kennedy, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Homegoing service will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley with full military honors.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Sampson County on September 12, 1940 to the late Isaac and Thelma Talton Kennedy. He was a lifelong member of Friendly Holiness Church where he served as Deacon and was a member of the Men’s Fellowship.
Mr. Kennedy retired after 27 years of service from the United States Army. He was a retired volunteer fireman with Jordan’s Chapel Fire Department and was a lifetime member of the North Carolina National Guard Association and the Wayne County Fire Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annette E. Kennedy; one daughter, Sonja Renee Bridgers and husband, Mark of Clinton; three grandchildren, Katelyn Cavenaugh, Keri Cavenaugh and Kelly Cavenaugh and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Kennedy.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
