Thomas Richard Evans

Thomas Richard Evans, 73, of Pikeville passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, November 03, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Evans was born in Wayne County on July 22, 1946 to the late Johnnie and Jeffie Best Evans.  He was a Biology and Science Teacher with the Wayne County Public School System for over 20 years having worked the past 10 of those years at Spring Creek Middle School and Charles B. Aycock High School.  Mr. Evans was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro.

He is survived by one son, John Thomas Evans and wife, Rebecca of Princeton; one daughter, Kimberly Evans Vick and husband, Thomas S. Vick Jr. of Goldsboro; one brother, J.C. Evans and wife, Betty of Goldsboro; one sister, Beckie Evans Barnes and husband, Gary of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Ashley Vick, Aaron Vick, Dakota Evans, Amber Evans and Justin Evans and one great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Vick.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
