Peter Evrard Obituary

Peter "Pete" John Evrard, 53, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 7 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mt. Olive where he was a member.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 6:45 p.m. at the church.

Pete was born in Massachusetts on May 29, 1965 to Joan Marie Sheetz Evrard of Pennsylvania and the late Carl Thomas Evrard.  He graduated from Philipsburg Catholic High School where he was a drummer in the marching band.  He later joined the United States Army and worked with maintenance fixing their equipment.  When in the military, Pete worked in Missouri, Oklahoma, Germany and later in North Carolina.  Pete lastly was employed with Mount Olive Pickle Company frequently working two jobs for his family.

Pete was an amazing, wonderful, loving and supportive father, friend and now a husband to Vivian.  Even though they only knew each other for a short time, Pete and Vivian knew right away that God brought them together for so many reasons, they were soulmates from the start.  His faith and love for our Lord continued til his last breath and his physical pains are no more.

Pete loved to make others feel comfortable, making sarcastic remarks, creating his own jokes and songs that made others smile.  His infective smile warmed a room helping others to forget their troubles at least for the moment. When he'd play the drums, people looked amazed because he was so good!  His birth children, Matt and Brittany were blessed with the most theatrical loving father that was their best friend from the start.  Sarah and Lowell were then treated the same way and their family blended immediately.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vivian Evrard; one son, Matthew Thomas Evrard of Seven Springs; two daughters, Brittany Lynn Evrard of Seven Springs and Sarah Ford and significant other, Lowell Smothers of Seven Springs; three brothers, Mark Evrard and wife, Lynn of Maryland, Carl Evrard of Washington State and Paul Evrard and wife, Lisa of New Jersey; one sister, Joan Koma and husband, George of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his father, Pete was preceded in death by his first wife, Tammy Lynn Evrard and a son, Nathan Ford.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
