Peggy Elaine Simmons Downing, 81, of Goldsboro passed away Friday, September 06, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Downing was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 26, 1938 to the late Richard E. Simmons and Blossom Boseman Simmons.

She is survived by her husband, Milton A. Downing; one son, Russell Downing of Goldsboro; one daughter, Valli Downing of Goldsboro; one sister, Valli Hamilton of Mount Olive; one granddaughter, Tiffany Luman and husband, Chris and three great-grandchildren, Kira, Skye and Sierra.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
