Mary Pauline Gurley Peacock, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside will follow at Creech Cemetery in Smithfield.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Wayne County on June 08, 1926 to the late Tommy Oscar and Lannie Oliver Gurley. She was a charter member of United In Christ Church in Goldsboro.
She is survived by two sons, Raeford “Ray” Turnage of Goldsboro and Norwood Bruce Turnage of Goldsboro; two daughters, Joyce Turnage Brock and husband, Mangrum of Grantham and Paulette Turnage of Morganton, NC; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Benjamin “C.B.” Turnage; her second husband, Joe Peacock; one son, Dennis D. Turnage; four brothers, Raeford Gurley, Leon Gurley, Milton Gurley and Jessie “Toby” Gurley and one sister, Lola Mae Singleton.
