Norwood Earl Eason, 78, passed away Thursday, February 07, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. The family will greet friends following the service. A memorial service has been planned by the beach community for Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Olde Salty Restaurant, Carolina Beach, NC.
Mr. Eason was born in Wayne County on October 06, 1940 to the late Woodrow Wilson Eason and Emma Joannie “Ann” Brown Eason. He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School where he was proud to have been a member of the football team. Mr. Eason was also educated at DeVry Institute in Chicago. He was an entrepreneur of several businesses in Goldsboro including “The Nite Owl” night club, “The Coffee Shop” and “Home Furnishings” on East Walnut Street in Downtown Goldsboro and several arcades in Goldsboro.
He is survived by three sons, Norwood E. Eason Jr. “Jay” (Resa) of Charlotte, Scott Eason (Karen) of South Carolina and Todd Eason (Beth) of Wilmington; one daughter, Amanda Cwiakala (Chris) of Goldsboro; two sisters, JoAnn Marriner of Sleepy Creek and Sheila Davis (Billy) of Wilmington; his sister-in-law, Sue Eason of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Chris Eason, Nicole Johnson (Ricky), Kate Eason, Parker Eason, Ivey Wade and Jade Cwiakala and his loving, caring friends of the Boardwalk and Shagging Communities at Carolina Beach.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Eason was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie Eason and Durwood Eason and his brother-in-law, Brooks Marriner Sr.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
