Nellie G. Holliday

Nellie G. Holliday, 88, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11 a.m.  at Smith Family Cemetery on Hood Swamp Road in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service. 

Mrs. Holliday was born in Greene County on April 17, 1930 to the late Walter and Canary Heath Goff.  She was the owner and operator of Nell’s Beauty Salon in Goldsboro and a member of Hood Swamp Friends Church.

She is survived by her son, J.T. Smith and wife, Wanda of Goldsboro; her daughter, LaNelle Smith of the home; two step-daughters, Debbie Cherry and husband, Linwood of Beautancus and Pat Rabon and husband, Steve of Pikeville; one sister, Kathleen Hinson of Faro; three grandchildren, Jay Smith and wife, Rondi, Justin Smith and Hayley Rabon.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her first husband, James A. “Tom” Smith; her second husband, Marvin Holliday; one brother, Walter Goff Jr. and sisters, Posey Snipes and Pauline House.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
