Monroe Cummings Sr.

Monroe Cummings, 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 07, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Cummings was born in Robeson County, NC on March 21, 1948 to the late Amos Cummings Sr. and Lucinda Jacobs Cummings.  He attended One Accord Church in Princeton.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Cummings; two sons, Shane Cummings and wife, Rachel of Goldsboro and Monroe Cummings Jr. of Goldsboro; two daughters, Lisa Bateman of Gates, NC and Cindy Chaple and husband, John of Goldsboro; two brothers, Levi Cummings and wife, Pricilla of Fremont and Ervin Cummings and wife, Joyce of Lumberton; eleven grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Pepper.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by three brothers, David Cummings, Amos Cummings Jr. and James Cummings and two sisters, Annie Ruth Bell and Nora Holland.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
