Mavis Pate Williford, 92, of the Patetown community went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 08, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Homegoing service will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 7 p.m. at United in Christ Church in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Pate Family Cemetery in Patetown.

Mrs. Williford was a native of Wayne County born April 18, 1925 to the late George Melvin and Sallie Mae Gardner Pate.  She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Reverend R.N. Williford.  Mrs. Williford was a member of United In Christ Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Reverend Ira G. Williford and wife, Shellie of Goldsboro and Reverend Richard N. Williford II and wife, Debbie of Fayetteville; two daughters, Vicki W. Aycock and husband, Reed of Pikeville and Gale W. Ard and husband, Reverend Flemon Ard of Tennessee; two brothers, Mickey Forehand and wife, Barbara and Joseph Albert Forehand of Goldsboro; two sisters, Maxine Sasser and Sarah Smith of Patetown; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Larisa Ard Jenkins.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
