Mary Elizabeth (Gore) Peele

Mary Elizabeth Peele, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Gore Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home

Mrs. Peele was born in Duplin County on September 30, 1940 to the late William and Maggie McGowan Gore.

She is survived by two sons, Jodie Peele of Goldsboro and Jerry Peele of Arizona; two daughters, Antionette Graves and husband, Samuel of Fayetteville and Linda Peele of Goldsboro; her step-son, Russell Peele and wife, Peggy of Mount Olive; her step daughter, Jenny Peele of Greenville; her God-son, Ricky Durham and wife, Yoshiko; her adopted daughter, Lisa James of Georgia; one brother, Diamond Gore and wife, Sherlene of Goldsboro; two sisters, Ezzie Davis and husband, Charles of Goldsboro and Ruby Kornegay and husband, John Lewis of New Jersey; her sister-in-law, Helen Gore of Georgia; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two God-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-God-son.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peele was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Peele; one step-son, Robert Peele and two brothers, William Gore and Dan Gore.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
