Leroy Chesterfield Small

Leroy Chesterfield Small, 86, departed his earthly walk of life Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at noon at Goldsboro Chapel FWB Church.  Burial with military honors will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.  Viewing will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro with the family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Small was born in New York on May 17, 1933.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Small; one son, Leroy Small Jr. of New York; one daughter, Joan Small of New York; one step-daughter, Michele Lovelace of New York; one sister, Ann Lewis of California; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
