Goldsboro- Joyce Cooper Farfour (Jan) passed away Saturday June 29, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 03, 2019 at 11 am at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 03, 2019 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church.
Joyce retired from Smith Hardware Company after many years. In addition to family, Joyce's passions were flower gardening and painting. She loved to sketch, paint and share her artwork with everyone. Joyce would always share cards, notes and pictures and flowers on birthdays, anniversaries or for no reason, just because. Joyce was a kind and loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother always taking the time to think about others.
Joyce is survived by her son, Richard Edmund Farfour (Rick), his fiancé Jodie M. Williamson; her grandson, Matthew R. Capps (Matt), her sisters, Mrs. H. C. Gray (Buzzy) and Mrs. Bessie McKoy; her brother, George W. Cooper (Buddy) his wife, Hazel Cooper and a very special caregiver, Cecilia Menley; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Celeste Cooper; her husband of 60 years, Edmund G. Farfour (Slugger) and her daughter, Freida Farfour Capps.
The family is most appreciative of the staff of Community Home Health and Hospice, especially Sheree Justus, Carie Brown and Tameka for their kind and compassionate care.
