Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined St. Delight United Holy Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and on the Usher Board.  He served as the President of the Ushers Union for many years in the Southern District Convocation, where he worked diligently to unite the ushers under a common goal of glorifying Christ. He was also President of the Scholarship Committee and took delight in singing with the Male Chorus and working with the Senior Outreach Ministry.  His joy was teaching as he taught Sunday school for many years.
