Jimmy Lee Parks, 67, passed away Friday, August 09, 2019 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at noon in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Parks was born in Wayne County on April 18, 1952 to the late Willie Parks Sr. and Ethel Wooten Parks. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Jimmy Parks was a man of the Word of God. His daily life consisted of a few minutes reading the scriptures and making intercessory prayer to the Father for himself, family, and friends. Soft spoken, a friend to everyone, Jimmy loved God with a passion and his daily conversation was communion with Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters, April Duval (Anthony) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Faith Godfrey (CJ) of Clayton, NC; one sister, Martha Daniels of Goldsboro, NC; four brothers, Wilbert Parks of Goldsboro, NC; James Hardy of Parkstown, NC; Kenneth Parks (Karen) of Atlanta, GA; Willie Parks Jr (Rose) of Dudley, NC; his God daughter, Brenita Stevenson of Goldsboro and her children, Brenden, Ayden and Albree Stevenson; one granddaughter, Aesha “G Girl” Marie Duval and one grandson on the way!
In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lois Parks and a sister, Joyce McKennon.
