Gerald Bernard Eagleson departed this life on January 2, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, NC. He served in the United States Army and retired from service on April 30, 1987. He went on to work at Wayne Memorial hospital and later retired from Cherry Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson V. Eagleson Jr.; his mother, Geraldine Thornton; his sister, Helen Francis Eagleson and his son, Jason Kawal Eagleson.
He is survived by his wife, Marylyn Eagleson; his son, Mack Crowell; his daughter. Thristian Eagleson Ellis (Steve Ellis); his brother, Wilson V. Eagleson III; his sister, Diedra Coney; his six grandchildren, Shannon Wallace (Chyna Wallace), Cortnie Crowell (Cedric McClary), Joshua Adam Crowell, Matthew Crowell, Steven Ellis Jr. and Timothy Isaiah Eagleson; nine great-grandchildren, Kayven Decker, Kinyattera Williams, Shakira William, Tanaya Jones, Jaylin Crowell, Zaniya Flanagan, Evan Noel, Zani Chambers and Chase Michael Vashon McClary; one great-great grandchild, A'Niya Pass and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 10, 2020 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
