Edward Brewington Jr.

Edward Brewington Jr., 76, departed his earthly walk Thursday, May 9, 2019 at home.

Homegoing service will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Goldsboro.  Viewing will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 from 4 until 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Brewington was born in Wayne County on March 03, 1943 to the late Edward and Oletha Holmes Brewington.  He retired from the United States Army having served his country proudly; was a member of the American Legion, Disabled Veterans Association and the Military Retiree’s Club.  Mr. Brewington retired from the Department of Sanitation in the state of New York and had worked previously with Arnold Wilbert Vault Company in Goldsboro.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, James Anthony “Levi” Barnes of Austin, Texas, Edward L. Brewington of Brooklyn, New York and Don Maurice White of Charlotte; his daughter, Miracle Brewington of Conyers, Georgia; four brothers, Willie Brewington of Odenton, Maryland, Bishop Clifton Brewington and wife, Portia of Goldsboro, Elder Lamont Brewington and wife, Brenda of Wilson and Kenneth Brewington of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Inez B. Covington of Anchorage, Alaska and Vera Logan of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hamilton Brewington; two sons, Edward Lee Brewington and Earl Green and two sisters, Annie McNeil and Delores Stallworth.
