Edgar Earl Stafford Sr., 86, of Princeton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday evening, April 17, 2019 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Stafford was born in Johnston County on February 21, 1933 to the late Joseph Wilbert and Nora Kornegay Stafford. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Goldsboro and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Mae Woodard Stafford; his son, Eddie Stafford and wife, Kathryn of Pikeville; one brother, Henry Stafford and wife, Ann of Virginia; two sisters, Louise Popkey of Virginia and Rachel Porter of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Kevin Stafford and wife, JoAn and Brandi Stafford Forbey and husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Lainey, Allison, Libbie and Abbie Forbey and Leila and Jones Stafford and three special nephews, Don Tadlock, Danny Tadlock and Walter Williams Stafford.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Wiggs Stafford; four brothers, John Stafford, Leon Stafford, Max Stafford and Linol Stafford and two sisters, Marie Hartley and Pauline.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
