Doris Jean Miller, 89, of Goldsboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Miller was born in Kentucky on June 02, 1930 to the late Edward and Ruby Jewel Gonyer. She was married to the late Joseph J. Miller III for 46 years. Mrs. Miller was a mother of five, grandmother of four and great-grandmother of three. She was a faithful volunteer of the Women’s Auxiliary and PTA President.

She is survived by her loving children, David H. Miller and wife, Ellen of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Andrew H. Miller of Goldsboro, Joseph J. Miller IV of Apex, Catherine M. Howell of LaGrange and Heather L. Miller of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Jason Miller, Michelle M. Stramella and husband, Scott, Daniel Miller and Catie Miller Burnette and husband, George and three great-grandchildren.

In keeping with her nature, funeral services are private and for immediate family only.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
