Mark, We felt as if we knew your dad through Milan...she took us on many of their adventures along with you and your sister, Lisa. God Bless you and Kelly through this time of grieving.

Some time during the mid-80's Chuck walked into one of my worship services at Victory Church. That was our first meeting. Not long after the initial meeting, Chuck stepped out from his pew and came to the altar and asked me to have prayer with him as he professed faith in Jesus as his personal Savior.
Years later Chuck asked me if I would conduct his funeral. Years passed. I retired from the active pastorate and I saw Chuck very little. My circumstances changed significantly when my wife passed and I moved 600 miles away. I regret I was not able to return and share with his family in his memorial.
Chuck lived his life dealing with severe physical difficulties. But he never gave up. He kept moving along. If you got into a discussion with Chuck you had better know your topic for he was versed in just about every area of life. He knew how to set forth his ideas (that one might not always agree with) and you had better be able to defend your position. He was a patriot and loved his country.
I extend my sympathy to his family. May God bless you and sustain you as your lives continues.

My relationship with "Chuck" goes back many years. He walked into one of my worship services some time in the early 1980's. We became friends. He came to the altar to confess Jesus as his Savior. I recall this clearly. Chuck was one of the most determined persons I ever met. Even though life dealt him some hard circumstances he never gave up not asked for sympathy. He was a friend. If you got into any kind of discussion with him you had better be able to defend your position and stand your ground for he was versed on just about any topic you might discuss. Chuck asked me to conduct his funeral but that was a long time ago and my circumstances have drastically changed and I now live 600 miles from Goldsboro. I regret that it was not possible for me to share in his memorial service.

I extend heartfelt sympathy to Chuck's extended family. May the God of all grace walk with you and sustain you at this time.
