Vernon H. Price

 

Homegoing Worship Service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

 

Vernon was born on November 18, 1928 to Nathan and Carrie Price in Wayne County, NC. He wore many hats throughout his life, a soldier, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a servant of the church, a small business owner, one of the best body men to be found and an avid Duke Blue Devils fan.

 

Vernon loved God, family and his country.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers and one sister; his wife of 34 years, Elsie Price and two children, Thomas and Paul Price. He is survived by four children, Joy Dixon (Billy), Larry Price (Marlene), Steve Price (Tanya) and Cleve Price. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

 

Special thanks go out to Martha Whitley for her love and care given and helping us to keep him at home where he belonged. Also, Tammy Tomlinson and CenterWell nurses, Brandy and Allison. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by many.
