Milton Landers Davis, affectionately called “Milt” was a loving father, who always gave of his time, which is seen as a “Gift” to many. He transitioned to heaven on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Many would say well lived serving others.
Milton was born to parents, Timothy Davis and Sallie (Whitfield) Davis on August 21, 1936 in Duplin County, NC. He was the youngest of one other sibling. He was a devoted member of Salem Chapel FWB Church for many years.
Milton lived an adventurous life of traveling all over the USA in work and leisure. Milton had a love of driving and those who truly knew him, can attest he would drive them anywhere, anytime. Always the one to step up to the plate to meet the transportation needs of others.
Milton’s last job was held for the Wayne County School System, in the service of a Teacher’s Assistant, and he loved his students. Milton’s other jobs were in the Transportation Industry as a Truck Driver, in which he too loved.
Milton leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Juanita Celeste Davis (Blonzo), Denise Davis Russell (Owen), Loretta Davis Ward (Rodney), Elaine Davis Johnson (Mark) and Lauren Tonya Davis Smith; his son, Ronnie (Davis) Smith; grandchildren, Kenneth Oates Matthews Jr, Sharesse Nicole Davis Claiborne, Nathan Davis, Elise Davis Williams, Amy Davis Mitchell, Nicole Davis, Rodney Darnell Ward, Michael Anthony Davis Jr, Maurice Davis, Chantai Davis, Ramone Davis, Kenya Smith, Cheyanne Smith, Jiton Martinez, Fredrick Martinez, Seth Smith, Elijah Smith, Kent Smith Jr. and Jason Smith; a host of cousins, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews and nieces, and great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Timothy & Sallie Davis; his wife, Estine Oates Davis; his brother, Nathaniel Davis; his sons, Kenneth, Earl, Harold, Michael and Kent; his daughter, Barbara Ann and his dear companion, Minnie Clark.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at noon in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Goldsboro. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 until 11:45 a.m.
