E.L. Aycock Jr.

E.L. Aycock Jr., 80, of Pikeville went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends following the service.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Aycock-Edgerton Cemetery on Nor-Arm Road in Pikeville.

Mr. Aycock was born in Wayne County on December 10, 1941 to the late Leon Aycock and Margaret Howard Aycock.  He was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wayne County Commissioner Barbara Aycock (District 1); one son, Richard Leon Aycock and wife, Christi of Pikeville; one daughter, Katherine Rogerson and husband, Jim of Clayton; four grandchildren, Alex Leon Aycock, Matthew Ryan Aycock, Elijah James Rogerson and Luke Aaron Rogerson; his brother-in-law, Walter F. Bridgers of Pikeville; a host of nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Gracie and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Aycock was preceded in death by two sisters, Lou Ann Bridgers and Edna Rose Aycock.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
