Betty moved to Goldsboro in 1959 with her family from Lexington Kentucky. The family made Madison Avenue Baptist Church their spiritual home where Betty was active with the Women’s Missionary Fund. In 1962, with her daughters growing up and husband travelling the world with a British Tobacco company, Betty took up the game of golf. Her golf game became her passion along with the many dear and wonderful friendships she made. Betty was honored in 2014, after 50 years as the only playing Charter member of the East Carolina Ladies Golf Association. Betty’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were dearly loved and attended to through the years and brought her great joy and happiness. She will be remembered for her giving spirit and fun sense of humor.
