Dollie Forehand July 26, 2010

Pikeville- Dollie Rae Mooring Forehand born March 1, 1926 to the late Arthur “Bud” Mooring and Obeliah Blow Mooring went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, July 26, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was married to the late Frank C. Forehand for almost 60 years. Mrs. Forehand loved God, her family and her church.

She was a member of Pikeville PFWB Church, which she joined in 1946. She taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. She was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary having served as President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, card chairman, flower chairman and food chairman. She was honored as Woman of the Year in 1966.

Mrs. Forehand was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her loving family; sons, Kenneth E. Forehand (Jo) and Randy “Pete” Forehand (Celeste’) of Pikeville; daughter, Connie F. Wiggins (Reverend Marvin Wiggins) of Goldsboro; sisters, Lillie Mae Overman of Nahunta and Louise Cunningham of Wilson; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Mooring and brothers, Arthur Jr., Marvin, Donald, Elmer and Robert Mooring.

Homegoing services will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Pikeville PFWB Church with Dr. Don Sauls and Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Forehand Cemetery in Pikeville.

The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
