Theresa Ann Ellis quietly slipped away to her eternal rest of February 15, 2010.

Theresa Ann was born March 27, 1952 in Wayne County where she received her education in the Wayne County Public School System. She later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she loved as much as she did her home in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She worked at Bayou State Security as a Security Guard.

Theresa Ann Ellis O’bey is survived by her father, Reverend Cleveland Ellis (Thelma) of Dudley. Preceded her in death was her mother, Reverend Rosie Marie Ryals Ellis and a special friend, James Myers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, two daughters, Cherbella Neva O’Bey of the home (Meteria, Louisiana) and Walteria Rose Ellis (Omar Claiborne); one granddaughter, O’Mari Zeanna Claiborne and Russel O’Bey of New Orleans, Louisiana; three sisters, Alice Young (Samuel L.) of Dudley, NC, Gail Ellis of Cambridge, Maryland and Tina Darden (Jimmy L.) of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Cleveland Ellis Jr. (Lisa) of Fremont, NC; one step-daughter; one step-son; seven step-sisters; two step-brothers; five aunts; two uncles and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service.
