Wilbert Leon Stafford Jr., 79, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 06, 2017 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory.  Interment will military honors will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stafford was born in Wayne County on September 20, 1938 to the late Wilbert Leon Stafford Sr. and Mildred Lawhorn Stafford.  He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by four sons, Mike Stafford, Joseph Stafford and wife, Darlene, Tommy Stafford and Dennis Stafford and wife, Angie; three daughters, Debbie Smith, Jessica Locklear and husband, Jason and Pamela Baker and husband, Douglas; one brother, Thomas Stafford and wife, Donna; one sister, Barbara Johnson and nine grandchildren, including the apple of his eye, Justin Baker.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Stafford; one sister, Linda Carter.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
