Fremont- Stephen “Shorty” Edgar Ferrell, 80, passed away Thursday evening, May 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Stantonsburg Cemetery. 

Mr. Ferrell was born in Johnston County on August 19, 1935 to the late Daniel and Lucy Langley Ferrell.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Goff Ferrell; one brother, Robert “Bob” Ferrell and wife, Serether of Lucama and three sisters, Gilda Wade of Durham, Roberta Ferrell of Fremont and Josephine Davis of Wilson.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 3 until 4:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
