Goldsboro, Shorty “Wilbur” Grant, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Flatfield Cemetery in LaGrange with visitation afterwards.  

Mr. Grant was born in Greene County on December 23, 1924 to the late Oscar and Matilda Dail Grant. He was the past owner of Ballpark Texaco Service Station in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife; Marjorie Grant, three sons, Donnie, Rickey, and Randy Grant; three daughters, Billie Jo Webre, Gail Long and husband, Roger, Lisa Hardison and husband, Danny; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Grant.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
