Samuel “Sam” Barkley II, 1936-2017, transitioned into his eternal home January 13, 2017 after a brief illness.

Sam leaves behind his wife, Monika; son, Samuel III and wife, Sheila of Louisville, Kentucky and grandchildren, Samuel IV and Allison of Tampa, Florida; and son, Joseph and wife, Lahoma and grandson, Joseph of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Condolences are welcome however donations may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society Pet Food Bank, 104 S. Center Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530, in Sam’s name would be much appreciated.

Funeral services will be scheduled at a future date in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Sam, you not being in my world is not real, but I’ve told you for 30 plus years I was going to say this and as much as it pains me, “I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK”, I believed you this time.  I just saw how hard you fought and thought you had won and you have.  No more pain just a glorious resurrection.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
