Robert Daniel McCullen, 27, of Mt. Olive passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 due to a work accident.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.

Robert was born in Wayne County on October 15, 1989 to Michael Harold McCullen and Rita Hix McCullen of Mt. Olive.  He was employed with Butterball, Inc. in Mt. Olive.  Robert was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.  He enjoyed to fish, play football, softball and ride his four-wheeler.  Robert was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albertson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his precious daughter, Bella Rose McCullen and her mother, Rachel Weaver of Bailey; two half-brothers, Bradley Harper of Grantham and Christopher McCullen of Roanoke Rapids; half-sister, Maranda Gillam of Roanoke Rapids; his girlfriend, Melanie Kurre; his maternal grandmother, Meta Martin of Grantham; his paternal grandmother, LaVerne McCullen of Mt. Olive; his uncles, Julian McCullen of Mount Olive, Walter Hix and wife, Patricia of Goldsboro and Charles Hix and wife, Sandra of Goldsboro; his aunts, Brenda Hix of Goldsboro and Teresa James and husband, Jerry of Rocky Point and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harold McCullen.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Wells Fargo Bank in Mount Olive where a trust fund has been established for his daughter.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
