Mildred Barber Smith

Mildred Barber Walker Smith, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Walker Family Cemetery in Goldsboro.  The family will receive friends afterwards and other times at the residence, 558 Old Hwy 111 in Goldsboro.

Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County on December 16, 1932 to the late Lynn Eugene Barber Sr. and Bessie Long Barber.  She was a charter member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and attended Ray of Hope PFWB Church while her health permitted.

She is survived by one son, Gene Walker (Maryann) of Goldsboro; two daughters, Rhonda Sullivan (Ben) of Goldsboro and Karen Yarbrough (Richard) of Goldsboro; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Ricky Walker; two brothers and two sisters.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
