Maurice Douglas Townsend

Maurice Douglas Townsend, 56, departed this walk of life Saturday, November 16, 2019 at White Oak of Burlington.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 2:30-3:00 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with military honors.   A private family burial will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.

Maurice was a member of Greenleaf Christian Church and was retired from the United States Navy.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Wellington Townsend; two sons, Master Sergeant Maurice Douglas Townsend II and Mychal E. Townsend, both of Mississippi; brother, Corey D. Townsend of Goldsboro and his sister, Adrienne Townsend Greene of Goldsboro.

Maurice was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Douglas Townsend.

For family or friends sending flowers, vases or potted plants are appreciated in lieu flowers due to limitation of floral arrangements allowed at the VA Cemetery.
