Mary Griggs Sweet, 77, passed away Sunday, October 08, 2017 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

A family graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Sweet was born in Anson County, North Carolina on January 27, 1940 to the late Jasper and Clara Thomas Griggs.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Chandler and husband, Robert of Rosewood; one sister, Judy Cottros and husband, Gus of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Candace Walker and husband, William, Kenneth Chandler and Wesley Chandler and wife, Cheyanne and one great-grandson, Benjamin Walker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sweet was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sweet.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
