Fremont- Mary Doreen Hutson, 87, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Funeral services to celebrate Mary's life will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hutson was born in Brunswick County on February 02, 1929 to the late Henry and Velma Smith Inman.  She was a member of Pinkney Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir.  She loved working in her flower and vegetable garden and her most favorite memory was fishing on Ocean Isle Pier.  She cherished her family and enjoyed gospel music and sitting on the back porch. 

She is survived by one daughter, Marianne Anderson of Brooklet, Georgia; two sons, Henry H. Hutson and wife, Bertha of Fremont and Allen Hutson and wife, Roni of Mellen, Wisconsin; one sister, Janice Ross of Nakina; one brother, Larry Inman of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Hutson; two daughters, Velma Melissa Pelzer and Marsha Garmon and three brothers, Kermit Inman, Hoyt Inman and Donald Inman.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
