Mary Katherine Bestland, 77, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends afterwards.

Mrs. Bestland was born on November 27, 1939 in Maryland.  She was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry Bestland; one son, Harry Bestland of Goldsboro; three daughters, Stacy Seibel and husband, Art of Maryland, Julia Vincent and husband, Greg of Ohio and Shirley Morris and husband, David of West Virginia; two brothers, “Mert” Alley and wife, Peggy of Maryland and Harold “Sonny” Alley of Maryland; three sisters, Illona Lucas and husband, Buddy of Pennsylvania, Jackie McKenzie of Maryland and Pam Kistner and husband, Dennis of Maryland; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bestland was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Virginia Harris Sanford; one son, Kenneth Charles Boyd; a daughter, Gladys Eisenhower and one brother, Joseph McKenzie.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
